What is microsuction

Microsuction uses a small medical suction device to gently remove the ear wax. This is done under the high magnification of surgical binocular loupes or a microscope.

The clinician can see the inside of your ear canal in minute detail. Because of this, it’s only the troublesome wax which is targeted, avoiding the delicate surrounding structures of the ear.

Microsuction is the most modern way to remove troublesome earwax because unlike syringing no water is being forced into the ear canal which has the potential to cause trauma and infections.
